What happened?
Eric Luciano Torales, a young man who reportedly infected his grandfather and 14 others with the new coronavirus in Argentina, was prosecuted by the authorities for “spreading the disease” after he broke the mandatory quarantine to which he had been subjected.
According to the record of the media in that country, the young man attended a birthday party where he infected more than 15 people, which is why the prosecutor, Eric Luciano Torales pointed out that he is “author criminally responsible for the crime of spreading a dangerous and contagious disease guilt aggravated by the result of illness and death. “
Declared to have no coronavirus
The authorities maintained that Torales returned from Miami on March 13 and entered Argentina declaring that he had no symptoms of the new coronavirus. Even so, and because he came from another country, the young man had to comply with the respective quarantine.
That same weekend, the young man attended the party for 15 years her cousin, a celebration in which there were about 100 people taking into account the guests and the staff of the place.
Later, on the afternoon of March 16, Torales was hospitalized by Covid-19. According to the report of the Belgrano Adventist Clinic, I had a dry cough and fever.
Fifteen days passed between the party and the death of Torales’ grandfather, Luis María Suárez, which occurred on April 1. According to justice, the man died as a result of the “spread of dangerous and contagious disease” of his grandson.
After conducting an exhaustive investigation, Judge Néstor Barral prosecuted Torales for violating article 203 of the Code that governs the pandemic and which could carry a sentence of up to five years in prison. They also seized him for 50 million pesos and demanded that he hand over his passport.
