The Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, affirmed that a protocol for the opening of swimming pools is being worked on.

In an interview with Radio Pauta, the authority stated that “we are doing a swimming pool protocol. It is true that some traces have been detected, but in general no contagion has been seen through water. Therefore, the possibility of contagion through of the water in the pool is very very low. “

“The important thing is to have strict protocols because there people move from one place to another. I am talking about public swimming pools,” he said.

Similarly, he explained that “we are designing a protocol that is quite strict from the point of view of capacity, how many people can enter, how many people can circulate, that there cannot be shared furniture, that they will not be able to share dressing rooms.”

“They are restrictions that often make operation in a public swimming pool difficult,” he added.

Regarding this fact, he indicated that “we have met with the mayors, because the majority of the public swimming pools belong to the municipalities. Some have welcomed this opening a swimming pool, others not because they see it with greater difficulty.”

“It is important to see the stage. It is very different to open a pool in a transition stage in which the rate of cases is still higher, than in a more advanced stage of preparation, where the number of cases is already lower,” he explained.

Daza pointed out that “then we also have to see at that stage, give a little relief to people during this summer, because the truth is that this is going to accompany us for a long time and we have to make progress in those things that we know produce. greater relief to people but also looking at the health risk that is what we see “.

“Therefore it is not easy, it is difficult, we have to have very strict protocols,” he concluded.
