Government updates instructions on permits for travel and essential activities

The health authority announced the new restrictions for travel permits, after the increase in new cases of Covid-19 in the country and after exceeding one million accumulated cases since the start of the pandemic.

The Government announced a renewed version of the instructions which details all the permits that will be available, as well as the new definitions provided by the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell.

From this on Monday, April 5 at 05:00 hours:

Individual travel permits will be limited. For communes in Phase 1, two weekly permits will be authorized and only one of them can be used on weekends and holidays.

Regarding the capacity for religious worship, for the quarantined communes a maximum of five people will be allowed to attend the minister of worship.

In order to obtain the Single Collective Permit (PUC), the total number of workers in the company, the number of essential workers who require such permission and the essential work performed by that official must be reported.

Essential activities will be understood to be those that cannot be carried out electronically and that are essential. Therefore, administrative, accounting, financial and advisory and consulting tasks are left out. This applies to both public and private sector workers.

Essential money orders referring to the retail sale of clothing and clothing accessories will be temporarily eliminated; footwear in specialized trade; and wholesale of perfumes, toiletry and cosmetics. This measure will govern for 15 days and after them its continuity will be evaluated.

The definition of essential goods for domestic use will be restricted, remaining as those goods or services that are intended to be used by people within the home, in communes that are in phase 1 or 2 of the Step by Step Plan, and that are essential for subsistence (food, medicine, toiletries and personal hygiene), teleworking, distance education and the conservation and security of the property ”.

Products sold in supermarkets in communes in phase 1 and 2 will be limited, allowing the sale of products that qualify within the new definition of essential goods and services for domestic use (including supermarkets).

The shops must require the general travel permit or PUC of essential wholesaler to those people who wish to enter them.

The sanitary cordon that will be installed in the Metropolitan Region, Valparaíso, in the urban area of ​​Greater Concepción and in the communes of Temuco and Padre Las Casas, in the Region of The Araucanía. This measure will continue until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 4.
