Government receives 60 fans from China: they will be available online in 3 days | National

This Thursday they arrived in the country 60 new mechanical fans from China, in addition to 1,664,900 masks and other protection elements, to strengthen the health network in the context of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among the supplies it contains, are 215 thousand gloves, 19,960 digital thermometers, 2,500 Covid-19 sampling kits, 15,180 isolation suits, 1,800 protective glasses, three disinfection cabins, two temperature chambers, two infrared thermographic cameras and an epidemic quarantine unit.

According to the Minister of Health, Jaime Mañalich, the medical equipment donated by Chinese businessmen will be used to treat patients suffering from severe forms of the disease, being available in 3 days after passing the respective assembly processes and quality controls by the Chilean specialists.

It is also scheduled that this Friday another 2 aircraft arrive, with a “tremendous” contribution, according to what Mañalich described. He announced that these will bring a total of 170 “latest generation” mechanical fans.

“I take advantage, as I have repeatedly done these days, to ask humbly, but strongly, the collaboration of all compatriots” in complying with sanitary measures to limit the advance of the pandemic.

The reception at the Arturo Merino Benítez airport also included Foreign Minister Teodoro Ribera, and the Under-Secretary for International Economic Relations (Subrei), Rodrigo Yáñez.

The shipment of 21 tons of medical supplies, donated thanks to the solidarity campaign “China helps Chile”, coordinated by the Foreign Ministry and the Chilean Embassy in China when both countries celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations, is valued at 2.5 million of dollars.
