The Ministry of Education (Mineduc) has promoted an extensive campaign throughout the country on the “voluntary” return to face-to-face classes for this March 1, to which the College of Teachers has repeatedly responded that “the conditions are not there” to return to the classroom.

On Monday, the Mineduc reinforced its message during the start of vaccination of education workers.

However, while he valued the inoculation, from the union they affirmed that the campaign is one more element to evaluate the reopening from schools.

The fundamental thing, they insisted on the magisterium, is that the pandemic is under control.

The vaccination schedule for education officials was advanced, starting on Monday with people over 60 years old throughout the national territory, instead of Monday 22 as was established.

During an activity at the Salvador Sanfuentes School in the Santiago commune, the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, pointed out that the strategy seeks to protect school communities.

The head of the Minsal added that the measure is so much so that teachers, as fathers, mothers and children themselves trust again, and go back to schools.

During the start of the inoculation, the Minister of Education, Raúl Figueroa, commented that the vaccination of this sector of the population will create conditions for a safe start to the school year.

The vaccination of teachers is added to the different actions carried out by the Ministry of Education to implement the plan “Let’s Open the Schools Step by Step”.

In total, they delivered $ 13 billion to public schools to improve infrastructure and ensure sanitary conditions for the return to face-to-face classes.

However, according to figures from the College of Teachers, at least 49% of the establishments were left out of these competitive funds.

In conversation with Radio Bío Bío, Carlos Díaz, president of the teaching profession, appreciated the beginning of the immunization, but pointed out that today it is best to perfect the telematics modality and not in person.

The Chilean Association of Municipalities indicated that they did not agree with the date proposed by the Government for the return to face-to-face classes.

Fernando Paredes, president of the group and communal head of Natales, told La Radio that, after a meeting with Minister Figueroa, the school communities can be calm, because the return to face-to-face on March 1 is still voluntary.

This point is also fundamental for the College of Teachers, which insisted that fathers, mothers and attorneys have the final decision regarding whether or not their sons or daughters will attend face-to-face classes.

The union accepted the invitation to the advisory council’s working table for the reopening of schools, in charge of studying the protocols for reentry to classes.

Yes, the The union established a condition: include spokespersons and groups of proxies in this conversation. If this does not happen, the College of Teachers will withdraw from the instance.
