The Government decided to leave the entire Metropolitan region in Transition phase 2 due to the increase in infections of covid-19.
The measure will be implemented from Thursday, December 10 at 5:00 in the morning. In simple terms, this measure will force quarantine Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
This means that to leave the house you have to ask permission from the Virtual Police Station and you can only order one.
You will also not be able to travel from the Metropolitan region to other areas of Chile, ending with trips to the central coast that marked the last weekends.
The Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell, indicated that the measure is taken preventively to stop the increase in infections.
Martorell added that, in response to this, the Step by Step plan was modified. From now on restaurants will be able to open in phase 2, but only on the terraces.
In addition, equally classes can continue in schools that have returned to face-to-face classes.
As announced today, of the 1,760 new cases of covid-19 in Chile, 314 are from the Metropolitan region, the second area of the country with the most cases after the Bío Bío region.
