The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andres Allamand, referred this afternoon to the measures that the Government will take against the arrival of irregular immigrants through the northern border.
“We are going to strengthen control over the border, which is particularly extensive. We will continue working with the foreign ministries of neighboring countries, precisely to coordinate efforts, and we will offer cooperation, in terms of help dismantle the real machinery that exists, true gangs of people that, ultimately, function as human trafficking, “he said at a press point, which offered together with the Interior Minister, Victor Perez.
In passing, he noted that the government does not support illegal immigration and he recalled the episodes of a few years ago when immigrants even arrived at the table on planes as tourists to actually stay in the country.
“Finally, we hope that tomorrow and the day after we finally have legislation that allows or facilitates the task that we have to carry out at the border,” said the foreign minister.
