The Chilean tennis player Christian garin (22nd ATP) met his rival today for the premiere in the main draw of the French Open, Roland Garros, third Grand Slam of the season.
The first national racket, 20th seeded, will face off in his first duel on Parisian clay with the German Philipp Kohlschreiber (85 °).
The ‘Tank’ and the German will star in an unprecedented duel on the professional circuit. The 36-year-old European has the best results at Roland Garros in the fourth round in 2009 and 2013.
Kohlschreiber also has eight ATP titles in singles and has the best ranking number 16, achieved eight years ago.
Whoever succeeds in this match will play in the second round with the winner of the clash between the French Ugo Humbert (41 °) or an opponent from qualifying.
Note that Garin is at the top of the table, where the world number one and top favorite for the title appears, Serbian Novak Djokovic (1st). A hypothetical crossing of ‘Nole’ with the Chilean would be in the round of 16.
