The Interior Undersecretary, Juan Francisco Galli, referred to the death of Pedro Cabrera Benavides, a worker shot this Saturday in an arson attack in Collipulli – La Araucanía region -, pointing out that they will not rest until the violence ends.

Cabrera was seriously injured by a gunshot wound in an attack suffered by a group of workers returning from a forestry task. The incident occurred on the Curaco road in the Collipulli commune, belonging to the Malleco province.

The man was wounded with a firearm to the head and chest, and was transferred in serious condition to the Collipulli Hospital. Due to the seriousness of the situation, he was transferred to the Angol Hospital, where he died within minutes of entering.

In this regard, Galli pointed out that “The police are working hard to determine those responsible for his death. We will not rest until this violence ends and return some peace to his family “.

For his part, the mayor of La Araucanía, Víctor Manoli, said that this was a vile and terrorist act and called on citizens to provide information.

Meanwhile, the spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office in La Araucanía, Daniela San Martín, It indicated that instead, shells of shotguns and war rifles were found, as well as pamphlets calling for the freedom of prisoners for rural violence.
