Something’s wrong with UC. He is still leading, yes, but he forgot to win. With the agonizing and controversial 2-2 draw this Sunday against Audax Italiano, he is leading three draws in the tournament and adding the Sudamericana has barely achieved a win in his last six meetings. It continues up, yes, but for the crusaders and especially for Ariel Holan it must be an important wake-up call if he wants to keep the tri dream alive.
Because in addition to failing to win, the precordillerano team does not play well at all. He lost the overwhelming path that left him without rivals in Chilean football. It no longer seems invincible as it did until recently.
And it is that in Florida, in fact, the clearest were the owner of the house (where Vitamina Sánchez debuted), even when possession favored the Catholic. Unsuccessful ball possession, in any case, because his goals came from balls to the area.
And so, without ideas, the UC also found itself with the opening of the account shortly after starting the complement. It was through a resource well worked by Holan since his arrival in San Carlos: the stopped ball. The newly renovated Buonanotte crossed and Zampedri sent her to the back of the arc at 56 ′.
This did not last long for the university students, who saw how Angelo Hermosilla sanctioned a penalty for lack of Juan Fuentes six minutes later. Holgado turned it into a goal, despite the claims of the Catholic, who asked that an infraction be reviewed at the start of the play against Luciano Aued.
The controversy settled after 72 minutes: Puch fell in the audina area and the entire UC claimed a penalty. The touch existed and the striker magnified. The referee allowed him to continue and against Montecinos, the best on the court, he first won a pivot, accompanied the play and defined in a great way after Holgado’s qualification. The VAR acted and from the operating room they announced to Hermosilla, who did not go to see the play, to validate the green goal. There the Floridian redoubt burned from the crossed bench, to the point that Holan was sent off and Puch won yellow after asking the referee if the decision was a joke. The play will be a reason for analysis because, however, the VAR’s behavior once again left more doubts than certainties and that feeling of injustice that has accompanied it since it was implemented in Chile.
The UC bet on balls to reach the vigilante tie, which it achieved at 96 ′, again thanks to its savior Zampedri. Anyway, with controversy (which should not divert the focus from the low level of the UC), one player too many and without ideas, the truth is that Católica forgot to win. And on top of that he lost Buonanotte, who was expelled for claims after the match.
