Through a statement, “Education and Culture” states that the directors of this foundation, Jorge Selume, who chairs it, and Juan Antonio Guzmán, “are professionals with a long career in the Chilean higher education system. Among other outstanding tasks academic, teaching and educational management, both have been from the origins linked to the Andrés Bello University, as members of its higher bodies and also of other educational entities “.

Along these lines, they affirm that the constitution of this non-profit foundation “allows and ensures strict compliance with current legislation, both in its letter and in its spirit.”

“The existence of the Fundacion Educacion y Cultura gives full confidence that all the surpluses and assets of these institutions are used exclusively to achieve their founding purposes: to be a contribution to Chile through the development and improvement of higher education”, they add.

Due to this, they assure that it is “good news” that “a Chilean non-profit entity acquires the quality of supporter of these higher education institutions”, since it ensures “the projection of each one of them and their attachment to its mission and purposes. “

In its founding objectives, “Education and Culture declares the quality of academic training, the secular spirit, pluralism, freedom of thought, accessibility, inclusion and diversity as characteristic hallmarks.”

“We are committed to each academic community and its students, in the consolidation and continuous improvement of each of their educational projects. UNAB, UDLA, UVM and the Modern School of Music are institutions that are very different from each other, with educational projects oriented to different purposes, but all with principles and values ​​that converge with our founding objectives ”, said Selume.
