The Synthesis Foundation expressed its concern about the approval of the preliminary project for a 22-story building in Concepción, which they assure would be similar to the “vertical ghettos” of Estación Central, in the Metropolitan region.
In Colo Colo street, between Cruz and Prieto, in the regional capital of Bío Bío, they seek to raise the building that set off the alerts in the foundation, all this in means of modifying the commune’s regulatory plan that will limit the height of the buildings.
According to Camilo Riffo, director of the Synthesis Foundation, the building will have 1,242 residential apartments and -on average- with 62 apartments per floor.
In turn, he expressed that the project is the closest thing to the so-called “vertical ghettos” of Estación Central.
The director of Municipal Works in Concepción, Juan Andreoli, reported that there are two preliminary projects approved by the building house.
One of them, located at streets Prieto 770 and Cruz 785 with 22 floors, while the second has 23 floors with address in Colo Colo 1276.
He also explained that to obtain the definitive construction permit and for the number of departments that are projected, require to undergo an impact study on the urban transport system.
The Synthesis Foundation insisted on the need to postpone building permits in the city, ensuring that there has been negligence of the Municipality.
In short, the modification of the regulatory plan will limit the height of the buildings, according to the area where the project is located, establishing -for example- un maximum of 15 floors on Alessandri Avenue.
