Released, but required in a simplified procedure, for throwing stones at moving police vehicles, two professional Air Force troop soldiers were detained after a demonstration in Temuco called by social networks to reject what happened on the Pio Nono bridge in the Metropolitan region.
As reported by the Public Ministry prosecutor, Cristian Crisosto, Carabineros de Control del Orden Público, noticed two people who were throwing stones, for which they were arrested.
After that, they found that they were two Air Force soldiers, according to what they themselves would have specified when identifying themselves before the police personnel, being required in a simplified procedure.
The Prosecutor’s Office asks for those requested, both 21 years old, Luis Morales Painemil and Matías Sandoval Serrano, if they accept responsibility for the facts, they are sentenced to 300 days in prison plus accessories and costs, for which the Court ordered a Simplified trial hearing for January 25, 2021.
The Air Force, by means of a statement, together with rejecting what happened, confirmed that both detainees are professional troop soldiers from the Aviation Infantry Tactical School that operates at the Maquehue Air Base.
Meanwhile, they detailed that both were on duty-free schedule at the time of the events and that they initiated a summary administrative investigation as a result of what happened.
