Entel Tower: this was the light show that replaced the classic fireworks event

During the midnight of the New Year and in the absence of fireworks to celebrate the arrival of 2021, the Entel tower, the central point of a traditional pyrotechnic show, showed a light show in order to commemorate the passage from 2020 to 2021.

In the prelude to the light and laser show, the telecommunications company, organizer of the event, had announced that it would be a “multicolored beam of light, which will be projected from 00:00 o’clock and that would be clearly visible until 04:00 hours “today.

Likewise, it had been reported that the laser lights had a trajectory and spectrum of up to 40 kilometers away, and that the show will take place during the first four nights of 2021 in Santiago, and then move to regions, where it will be seen in Arica, the January 7 and 8, then in La Serena from January 11 to 13, in Concepción from January 16 to 18, to end in Punta Arenas on January 22 and 23.

However, the show also attracted criticism on social networks after its first night, as various users pointed out that the show had low visibility in various parts of the capital, in contravention of the announcement made by the organization. Other users even compared the show to the laser lights that are frequently seen in demonstrations in Plaza Italia.
