This Wednesday, the Eiffel Tower from Paris was evacuated after the police received a bomb threat. After two hours closed, the monument was reopened to the public after no suspicious artifact was found.
According to sources from local radio France Bleu, the situation was alerted by an anonymous call to the police, so the place was cordoned off and policemen patrol the area with rifles.
For its part, Le Parisien states, citing a source inside the monument, that the police are carrying out controls on the tower to verify the complaint.
Previously, the Eiffel Tower has already had to be evacuated due to bomb threats, as happened in May 2018.
It has been reported that a man threatened to “blow himself up”, emitting jihadist screams, but this information has not been confirmed by official sources or local media.
