An earthquake of medium intensity was registered at 10:55 am this Sunday in the north of the country, which could be perceived in the regions of Arica and Parinacota and Tarapacá.

According to information from the National Seismological Center, the telluric movement had a magnitude of 5.2 degrees, occurred 24 kilometers north of Camiña, in the province of Tamarugal, with a depth of 115.1 km.

Onemi pointed out that, preliminary, no damage to people, alteration to basic services or infrastructure is reported as a result of this earthquake.

For its part, the SHOA indicated that the characteristics of the earthquake do not meet the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami on the coast of Chile.
