Onemi activated two preventive early warnings in La Araucanía due to meteorological conditions. To this is added a regional preventive early warning by massive event, because of the solar eclipse of this Monday 14.

The notices of the Chilean Meteorological Directorate, anticipating heavy rain that could reach 60 millimeters in a 12-hour period, between this Saturday and Sunday, added to thunderstorms that could be registered this Friday, determined Onemi Araucanía to activate the respective preventive early warnings, according to the regional director of the organization, Janet Madrano .

In addition, Onemi Araucanía resolved to activate a regional preventive early warning for a massive event, due to the solar eclipse next Monday, where despite the restrictions and sanitary measures due to the pandemic, anyway, a significant movement of people is expected in the region.


The regional director of Onemi, reiterated that at the moment the meteorological conditions for the day and time of the eclipse, anticipate overcast skies and rain in much of the region, which in any case may vary depending on the area from which the phenomenon is observed.
