A dramatic event occurred yesterday afternoon in Punta Arenas. A dog that bit a 9-year-old girl and two adults was shot dead by its own owner.
According to the account of the newspaper El Pingüino, the events occurred inside a home. The dog belonged to the family, as it had recently been adopted.
The first person injured was the 9-year-old girl. After this attack, the mother was also injured by the animal. Faced with this situation, the family reported to SAMU, from where they sent a team to attend to the injured.
The resuscitator on duty was Arturo Díaz, who is also a Punta Arenas councilor. During his home visit, the nurse was also approached by the dog, who bit him that left him with injuries to his arm.
“We attended a call for a minor who had been bitten by a dog. She had quite serious injuries to her arm, and while we were getting ready to attend to her, the dog attacked me and caused injuries,” said Díaz.
In this context, the owner of the house used a firearm and shot the animal.
