In mid-November, when they were preparing for the elections, Dr. Acuña stated that the Colmed had to be “depoliticized”, assuring that he would like “the college to have a rule in which the leaders of the Medical College may not run for electoral office in a period of six to eight years”.

For her part, Dr. Siches stated at the time that they were convinced that had begun “the great transformations that the Medical College needs”. “We advance in the defense of the rights of each of the members of our union, we fight for good practices and fair certifications, for the role and vocation of our profession and, for our patients, seeking to transform the health of Chile.”
