A serious dog attack was registered on Thursday afternoon in a neighborhood near the Punta Arenas jail, Magallanes region, which left three people injured.
Inside a home, a 9 year old girl was attacked by a dog that belonged to the family, which had been recently adopted. In the middle of the fact the mother was also attacked by the animal.
The relatives reported the incident to SAMU, who responded by sending a team to attend to the injured.
The resuscitator on duty and councilor of the Arturo Díaz commune, while he was assisting the minor, was also approached by the dog, who gave him multiple bites on your arm.
Given this fact, and given that the animal was not controlled, the owner of the house extracted a firearm, giving it an accurate shot at the dog.
“We attended a call for a minor who had been bitten by a dog. I had quite serious injuries on one arm, and while we were getting ready to attend to her, the dog attacked me and caused me injuries ”, said Díaz.
Alexis Millalonco, SAMU nurse and witness to the events commented that “the dog was shot dead by the minor’s father, and the Carabineros is managing the security of the event. On the other hand, the colleague underwent an evaluation and treatment in a surgery box, which hurts us, because we have one less advanced mobile for the shift ”.
As for the minor, she was transferred to the city hospital, where she would be subjected to surgical intervention.
Carabineros adopted the procedure, before the shot fired by the owner of the house.
