Deadlines are limited in Chile Let’s go to define the candidate who will contest, on April 11, 2021, the governorship of the Metropolitan region.
In the opposition will compete, on the side of the Constituent Unit, the former mayor Claudio Orrego, a member of the DC; and for the Broad Front it will Karina Oliva, of the Communes Party.
In the official parties, specifically in Renovación Nacional and Evópoli have maintained contacts with the doctor Sebastián Ugarte, head of the critical patient unit at Clínica Indisa, who appears periodically on television.
In both stores they admit contacts and, despite the fact that Ugarte ruled out the possibility of being a candidate through their social networks, they point out that will wait until this week for a definitive answer.
Deputy Ximena Ossandón (RN) ruled out that there are no candidates in the conglomerate to compete. However, he admitted that Ugarte could be a good card to dispute the metropolitan government.
In the UDI they have already decided that the former regional councilor, son of the former mayor of Providencia and collaborator of the dictatorship, Cristián Labbé Martínez, will be its candidate, while waiting for Chile Vamos to define the way in which they will choose their candidate.
The deputy and vice president of the UDI, Juan Manuel Fuenzalida, pointed out that Labbé meets the conditions to lead the most populated area of Chile.
The deadline to register candidacies expires on January 11, 2021, so the decision should not be extended beyond two weeks, according to sources inside the block.
