This Friday the government announced the delivery of a voucher of $ 200 thousand monthly to which you can apply from February working women who are mothers of children 2 years of age or younger.
The information was released by the President of the Republic, Sebastian Piñera; the Ministers of Labor, María José Zaldívar; of the Treasury, Ignacio Briones; and Women and Gender Equity, Mónica Zalaquett.
The authorities detailed that it is the Protege Subsidy, aimed “at working mothers, dependent and independent, who are in charge of the care of children under 2 years of age, to be assigned to their care and who are not guaranteed the right to a nursery by their employer ”.
Alternatively the working parents, dependent or independent, who have personal care exclusively, or who has been granted the personal care of a child under two years of age, they may also apply.
The $ 200,000 subsidy will be for each child under the age of 2 that the working mother or father, as the case may be, has in their care.
The benefit will extend for 3 months, indicated the Government, “Renewable as long as the state of exception remains in force due to the sanitary conditions of the covid-19 pandemic that justify its implementation. The renewal will be carried out monthly for a maximum period of six months ”.
It is estimated that this aid will reach at least 35 thousand people.
Requirements to apply in February, when the process begins
1. Being within the universe of beneficiaries.
2. Having effectively returned to work, whether in teleworking, distance or mixed mode.
3. Comply with the following minimum quotes:
-Dependent workers: 4 quotes in the last 12 months, at least one corresponding to the last month prior to the application.
-Independent workers: having listed as independent in the last rental operation and not having the right to a nursery due to being a dependent.
The beneficiary working mother must apply for the benefit in February directly on the Sence website, www.subsidioalempleo.cl, in which compliance with the requirements will be verified of access with the online databases that said Service has. Payments will begin to be made in March 2021.
