Two weeks after the end of the registration period for candidacies for mayors, the deputy of the Broad Front, Pablo Vidal, affirmed that different conditions must be fulfilled so that the opposition can reach a municipal primary.

The proposal includes, among others, the participation of all opposition actors, that the current mayors participate in these primaries and that, in the case of losing a municipal primary, it does not imply support for another candidate.

This was confirmed by the deputy of the Democratic Revolution, Pablo Vidal.

This proposal did not generate support from the different sectors of the opposition. In fact, Vidal went out to explain his sayings through social networks.

Meanwhile, the president of the PPD, Heraldo Muñoz, said he did not understand the formula for this initiative.

The chairman of the Christian Democracy of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies, Daniel Verdessi, classified the proposal of his peer from the Frente Amplio as unusual.

These Vidal guidelines are focused on the municipal elections that will take place in April next year, and which set the stage for local governments from the Frente Amplio.
