The minister of Estate, Ignacio Briones, was yesterday afternoon one of the “telematic” guests to the session of the Constitution Commission since Chamber of Deputies, in which the review of the five bills related to a possible new withdrawal from the pension funds followed.
The proposal has in the deputy Pamela jiles to one of its promoters, and in that capacity the representative of District 12 had a strong encounter with the person in charge of the fiscal coffers, who defends the position of the government not to repeat the rescue of more money from AFP to face the economic difficulties generated by the coronavirus pandemic.
First spoke the Secretary of state, who said that “The Government responded to the crisis with investment and allocated $ 5,100 million dollars in direct transfers, cash for people, to make up for the loss of income of Chileans. What needs to be clarified is that another withdrawal of money from the AFPs is incompatible with the pension reform. You cannot go north and south at the same time. And it is clear that there are millions who have already been left without money in their accounts with the first withdrawal, a figure that will increase with an eventual second withdrawal. And that it goes against their future retirements. That’s factual data. “
Pamela jiles replied that “According to the minister we are great, in an oasis again and covered in benefits. But that does not say a relationship with the reality that is seen, so I am concerned about the perception of the reality of the minister … I understand that this second withdrawal of money since The AFPs is effectively like the loss of virginity, because it is also for one time. But those of us who have some experience in life know that virginity can be lost many times. We are advancing in this second retreat and I will do whatever is necessary, to offer my body again, to be approved. “
In the Constitution Commission, we were NOT able to vote in general on #SecondRetreat by the only opposition of the UDI deputy Jorge Alessandri.@jalessandri.
Despite the difficulties, we will insist on the next session and we will do everything necessary to approve it as soon as possible. pic.twitter.com/yWQX1Rdp0i

After this intense debate, the Commission that chairs the DC Matias Walker decided to approve in general, by ten votes in favor and two abstentions, the idea of legislating the bill that allows the withdrawal of pension funds for people with terminal illnesses.
This initiative was presented by the deputy PS Marcos Ilabaca, and those who abstained were Diego Schalper (National Renewal) and Luciano Cruz-Coke (Europe).
In the same session, it was unanimously approved to consolidate all the projects that point to a second withdrawal of 10% of the funds from the AFP, so now the discussion will go to the Chamber.
According to Pamela Jiles, the second withdrawal of 10% would already have the support of at least 15 representatives of the ruling party.
