The Red will face on Thursday, October 8 Uruguay in Montevideo, at 7:45 p.m., colliding with the Plebiscito strip (it starts at 8:45 p.m. and lasts 15 minutes), a situation that has quite complicated Chilevisión and the ANFP.
That is why a group of deputies decided to take the initiative and send a letter to the President of the National Television Council, Catalina Parot, seeking to change the time of the slot for that day, so that the duel is shown without cuts or delayed .
The writing, sponsored by the deputies Ximena Ossandón Y Erika Olivera, confirmed the position of the group of parliamentarians, who are concerned about the interruption of the party.
“It is a fact that to publicize the time slot that day, the television channel in charge of the transmissions, Chilevisión, will have to suspend the transmission of the soccer game for fifteen minutes, from 8:45 to 9:00 p.m. that people are forced to watch it through a paid cable system or simply wait for the end of the electoral propaganda to resume it ”, they pointed out.
“Considering that soccer is a popular, massive sport that enjoys a large audience It does not seem sensible for the electoral slot to be broadcast at the same time on October 8 and that is why we formally ask them to find a way to adjust it, postpone it or broadcast it at another time, so that people have the option of seeing both contents, ”the letter says.
The event also has such a considerable rating that it will probably nullify any attempt by citizens to watch the television strip, which becomes a problem for the purpose that we as a society have to make visible and inform citizens about the contents of the next plebiscite. Without any other particular and waiting for this request to be considered ”, they explained.
Note that for the game with Colombia on October 13 there is no time clash, since the ANFP will carry out the management before FIFA and Conmebol to delay the commitment until 9:30 p.m.
