After the long weekend, hundreds of santiaguinos return to the capital from different parts of the country. But on the way, users found traffic slower than normal.
The reason? At the Panguiles junction, located between kilometers 36 and 31 of Route 68 in the direction of Santiago, demonstrations were generated that slowed the return of cars.
Personnel from the Public Order Control Prefecture (COP) of the Carabineros went to the scene to deter disturbances on the route, which is currently 3 × 1 until 9 at night.
In addition, other factors that slow down traffic, in this case are accidents in the Tinguiririca sector, at kilometer 143, and temporary detours due to work on the third track between Talagante and Isla de Maipo.
In the south of Santiago, according to Ruta del Maipo, accidents were recorded in San Francisco de Mostazal, at kilometer 67 of Route 5 South, and in Graneros, kilometer 76 to the west of the route.
According to the balance provided by Carabineros, the return of 318,250 vehicles is expected to the Metropolitan Region, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same long weekend of 2016.
