This Saturday the Ministry of Health presented the 15th weekly report of deaths from covid-19, which showed 17,075 people died from the pandemic, between confirmed and probable cases.

The Department of Health Statistics and Information established that of the total deaths from the virus up to 24th September, 12,591 are confirmed, while the probable ones are 4,484.

Regarding the communes with the highest mortality in the last two weeks, the list is led by Punta Arenas, it is followed by Parral, Ovalle, Arica and San Miguel.

Epidemiological Report

For his part, 54th Epidemiological Report reports that until September 24 there have been 512,964 cases of covid-19, 453,868 with laboratory confirmation and 59,096 probable, with a rate of 2,636.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The highest cumulative incidence rates per 100,000 inhabitants, according to laboratory-confirmed cases, are in the region of Magallanes (4349.0), followed by the Metropolitan region (3918.6) and the Tarapacá region (3357.9).

Of the confirmed and probable reported cases in EPIVIGILA, the median age is 39 years, where 6.0% corresponded to persons under 15 years of age, 24.1% to persons aged 15-29 years, and 30.0% to people 30-44 years old, 29.0% to people 45-64 years old, while
than the remaining 10.9% to adults 65 and over.
