On Wednesday, December 23, it was known in Chile that Maria Isabel Pavez, an obstetrics student at the Diego Portales University, had been missing for six days after going to an appointment.
His body was found inside an apartment in Santiago Centro on Thursday 24, which led to an order from the Eastern Prosecutor’s Office to arrest one of his ex-partners: a Mexican man identified as Igor Yaroslav (identity that would be false) or Carlos Humberto Méndez González (the possible real name).
In conversation with BioBioChile, a sister of the victim assured that the main suspect used a false name to enter Chile, after being wanted in his native country for a similar act, in 2009.
This fact has already begun to be reported on an international level. For example, the British Daily Mail published an article on Friday titled “Police are looking for a 36-year-old Mexican who ‘killed a 22-year-old expolola’ while he was on the run after ‘murdering his 17-year-old ex at his country house in 2009.’ ”.
“The suspect, who is overweight, has a mole under his lip and a tattoo of a black cross on his left forearm. He also suffers from cataract in one eye, which he tries to hide by letting his hair fall right over that eye, ”they wrote.

The mother of the missing young woman, Lorena Zamora, requested community collaboration to find the whereabouts of whoever was the author of his daughter’s death, but asked not to take justice into his own hands.
“I want that, please, if someone knows about this person, notify PDI, not to take the matter into their own hands, I don’t want that, because otherwise I would have done it myself. God is great, divine justice exists and this man is going to pay for the damage he has done to us ”, he assured.
