The ‘Tank’ is back! The Chilean Christian garin, 22nd in the world rankings, made a solid debut in the ATP 500 in Hamburg after easily beating the Japanese Kei Nishikori (35 °).

In what is his best game after returning to the circuit, the national overwhelmed the former 4th of the ladder in one hour and 17 minutes of play, by partials of 6-0 and 6-3.

Although Garin started with some problems in his service, he managed to recover and take advantage of the failures of his rival to break him three times and leave the Japanese at zero in the first set.

Already in the second set, Nishikori managed to improve his game and broke the Chilean’s serve in the fifth game. ‘Gago’, however, responded quickly and returned in the sixth game and then repeated the dose in the eighth.

Now, for the round of 16, Garin must face the winner of the cross between the third favorite of the tournament, the French Gael Monfils (9th), before the guest venue Yannick Hanfmann (103 °).
