Covid-19: RM leads new infections, while Bío Bío and Maule register explosive rise

This Thursday, the Ministry of Health delivered a new balance of figures related to the covid-19 pandemic that affects Chile.
In this sense, the health authority confirmed 2,395 new infections, 75 new deaths, raising a total of 593,310 infections since the pandemic began and reaching a total of 16,303 deaths as a result of the virus.
Regarding the figures, the Bío Bío once again leads in new daily cases in regions, with 442 new infections. Further back follows El Maule (257) and then La Araucanía (185).
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan region maintains the leadership of new COVID-19 cases nationwide, registering 567 new infections in the last 24 hours.

The health authority reported that in the last 24 hours 44 thousand PCR tests were carried out, marking a positivity of 5.41%; which represents a decrease compared to the previous day.
