The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, confirmed that the Government is in talks with a Chinese laboratory to obtain new vaccines against covid-19.
Information that was released in the daily report of the Minsal, where the health authority itself also detailed that in the next few days the vaccine of Pfizer / BionTech to Chile.
“The vaccine will arrive in the next few days, the next deliveries are also scheduled for December, January and even February. In addition, with the President of the Republic, and under his authorization, we started talks with another distributor of vaccines of Chinese origin “said Paris.
The infectologist at the Las Condes Clinic, Juan Pablo Torres, in addition to ensuring that this process will be gradual, pointed out that the country is prepared for the reception of these vaccines, despite the complexities -such as maintaining the cold chain- that it presents.
His peer from the same area, Carlos Pérez, specified that health personnel from southern ICU areas as well as from the Metropolitan region, for the delivery of vaccines.
Chile currently presents an agreement with four other laboratories, among them, Janssen, AztraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Covax, for the distribution of vaccines in the country, with Pfizer being the first to arrive in Chile, with more than 20 thousand doses which will be distributed in the coming days.
