The Ministry of Health – in the voice of Minister Enrique París and Undersecretary Paula Daza – delivered this Saturday the latest balance regarding the spread of covid-19 in Chile.
For the sixth time, infections exceeded 4,000: in the last 24 hours it was confirmed that 4,313 people are new carriers of the virus.
Of these, 2,677 are symptomatic and 1,471 are asymptomatic.
Thus, the total number of patients in Chile suffering or suffered from coronavirus amounts to 665,493, of which 25,442 are still active.
The authorities also indicated that in the last 24 hours 66 people died from the pandemic, bringing the total number of deaths to 17,435.
Finally, a new high number of PCR tests performed was recorded: 65,199 tests, with a total of 7,200,836 to date.
Health Residences
In parallel, the Minsal reported through a statement that there are 147 Sanitary Residences throughout the country and 6,372 users hosted in them.
In this way, since the creation of Sanitary Residences at the end of March, the highest occupancy number of the entire country, with a total of 2,137 beds available and exceeding the peak reached at the beginning of October.
Those who do not have the conditions for safe isolation, that is, they do not have their own bathroom and room, adequate ventilation, lack of support network at home and are in close contact, suspected, probable, awaiting result or positive for coronavirus; They can request admission to one of the Health Residences of the region to which they correspond by calling 800 726 666.
