The Ninth Chamber of the Court of Appeals of Santiago confirmed this Tuesday the preventive detention of Hernán Calderón Argandoña.
The son of Raquel Argandoña is formalized for the crime of frustrated patricide against his father, the lawyer Hernán Calderón Salinas.
The decision of the Chamber comes after the defense of Calderón Argandoña appealed to the established precautionary measure, requesting total house arrest 23-year-old man.
Currently the law student is in the Santiago 1 prison.
Let us remember that on Monday, September 14, the Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago also decided to maintain the precautionary measure for Calderón Argandoña, rejecting the request of the defendant’s defense, who requested that he be transferred from the prison.
In fact, on that occasion the lawyer Mario Vargas asked that if the precautionary measure were changed, “Nano” could serve house arrest in his mother’s second house in Viña del Mar.
In addition to frustrated patricide, the young man is being investigated for damage, unjustified shooting, unconditional threats and less serious injuries in a VIF and other related contexts.
It should be noted that Calderón Salinas re-qualified the complaint against his son, eliminating the qualification of “parricide” and leaving it as a “crime serious injuries in the context of domestic violence”.
The lawyer also informed that he will represent himself in the case, after the resignation of one of his lawyers.
The case began on August 11 when the 23-year-old came to his father’s apartment to attack him with a knife.
