In view of the latest epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health on the evolution of the covid-19 pandemic by communes, the municipality of Lo Prado indicates that there is an urgency for the commune to be included in the total quarantine.
Through a statement, local authorities detailed that “the high lopradine incidence rate of cases with Coronavirus (91.0) that exceeds Quinta Normal (81.4) and Central Station (85.6) communes that are already with that restriction justify this need. “
“Our municipal health teams have continuously monitored each positive covid-19, providing information and support to people to cope with the disease, but with this incidence that will continue to grow, it will be impossible to respond case by case, in its due form” they warned.
Likewise, they point out that “we have limited social support due to the great demand for food we have had. In turn, our small municipal teams in the field have carried out the sanitation of condominiums and streets, according to a schedule based on confirmed cases” .
From the municipality they recall that they have “supported the transfer to medical residences of patients who do not have the conditions to fulfill their quarantine in the place where they live, up to now corresponding to 30% of the assets with coronavirus”, but add that “local efforts have they will be enough if more restrictive measures are not implemented, that avoid a massive contagion among people with the natural risk of death. “
In #Loprado it is urgent #Total Quarantine Covid19 cases rose and we are concerned about massive contagion due to our high population density. The municipal containment capacity is at the limit. We demand the @Government of Chile prioritize the protection of life. https://t.co/csJSy6Z9EQ

They also explained that “Lo Prado has a high population density, with a large movement of people who move to other communes due to their connectivity, conditions that merit this urgent measure that we have requested several weeks ago.”
“We regret the delay in this decision by the health authority. Although we know the economic consequences of a quarantine, especially in a commune like ours with a significant percentage of families in vulnerability, we believe that the protection of people’s lives, “they said.
Finally, “after the overwhelming evidence of the Minsal report, we are convinced that there is no other way.”
