Contagions exceed 4 thousand cases again after a week | National

The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, delivered a new balance of the situation of the pandemic in Chile, accounting for an 11% reduction in new cases on average, despite the fact that this day the infections again exceed 4 thousand positives.

Specifically, there are 4,063 new infections, bringing the total to 748,082 patients, of which 22,791 are active (or contagious). Since Sunday, January 31, the barrier of 4 thousand cases a day has not been exceeded.

At the regional level, the Metropolitan added 912 cases, Los Lagos 506 and Bío Bío 396.

The death of another 87 people is regretted, so the hard figure rises to 18,895 deaths in total, considering those whose cause of death was confirmed via PCR.

The hospital situation reveals that 1,503 patients are currently admitted to an ICU, 1,270 of them on ventilation. There are 201 critical beds available in the integrated system.

In the last 24 hours, 59,950 PCR tests were processed and the national positivity reached 6.78%. At the regional level, the highest was in Los Ríos (14%) and the lowest was in Metropolitana and Aysén (4%).

Vaccination

Until now they count 575,718 vaccinated people, 161.349 yesterday Friday. Until today, at 11:00 hours, 6,753 inoculated people are reported, based on volunteers from 60 municipalities, mainly at homes, since vaccination was not budgeted for this day.
