The Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) requested a report from police from Chile for the new clothing worn by officials of Public Order Control (POLICE).

A citizen asked the uniformed men why they did not carry their identification and they replied that “This is a new Carabineros suit, it does not allow names to be used, it does not have velcro to put it on”.

In the same matter, this Thursday the deputy of Commons, Claudia mix, presented a request to the Comptroller’s Office to rule on whether the new uniforms adhere to those established in current legislation.
“It is striking that the Carabineros implement clothing for their officials with these characteristics, since the current legislation is very clear in the sense that the officials of that institution must wear visible name and rank on their uniforms“Said the deputy.
The parliamentarian also sent a letter to the Minister of the Interior, Rodrigo Delgado, and the general director of the Carabineros, Ricardo Yanez, requesting that they deliver a complete report that gives an account of the number of these new uniforms acquired by the police institution.
Likewise, it requests the date of purchase and characteristics of these, along with the measures established by the institution to ensure that the police officers are equipped with the new uniforms. can carry their proper identificationn visibly.
