Communities of Traditional Temucuicui and the Autonomous of Ercilla, which participated in a trawün during January 18 and 19, announced the creation of a “Mapuche Community Police”.

It was last week when the announcement of the meeting was made, after the massive operation of the PDI that ended with a deceased official.

It also caused controversy that during that mass day, on January 7, the arrest of the daughter of Camilo Catrillanca and the audio where they would be violating the rights of a minor by uniformed police officers.

After Lef Trawün, the members delivered a statement where they referred to the measures they will adopt, including the creation of a “Mapuche Community Police”.

As indicated in the document, the community of Temucuicui and others under “the principle and the right to exercise territorial sovereignty and self-determination will establish the ‘Mapuche Community Police’, since the Chilean State Police represents an aggression and permanent threat against the Mapuche People “.

At the moment it is unknown what this “community police” contemplates, the measures they will take and whether or not he will use some kind of weapon.

The “Emergency meeting” it was carried out after the raid on the communities of Chacaico, Huañaco Millao, Temucuicui, Pancho Curamil, and Coñomil Epuleo, they emphasized in the statement.

On this they indicated that it is an “act of violence that violates the right of the Mapuche people to live in peace in their territory and constitutes an attack on the Catrillanca family.”

LEF TRAWUN IN TEMUCUICUI, END TO CHILEAN STATE INVASION AND VIOLENCE, AFFIRMATION OF OUR COLLECTIVE RIGHTS, TERRITORIAL SOVEREIGNTY AND MAPUCHE SELF-DETERMINATION.

1.- We, the Mapuche participants of Lef Trawun, “Emergency Meeting”, which arises as a consequence of the massive raid on the Mapuche Communities of Chacaico, Huañaco Millao, Temucuicui, Pancho Curamil, and Coñomil Epuleo, affirm that the invasion and violence unleashed and without control from the Chilean State police that destroyed our homes, violently against children, women and the elderly who live in peace, had the objective of omitting the criminal and political responsibility of the government of President Sebastian Piñera, of his former minister Andrés Chadwick, the former Mayor of Araucanía Luis Mayor regarding the execution of Camilo Catrillanca and represents a continuous and permanent institutional violence from the so-called “Pacification of Araucanía” to the present day.

2.- The police invasion, which consisted of a massive raid by the police, is an act of violence that violates the right of the Mapuche people to live in peace in their territory and constitutes an attack on the Catrillanca family that is not It allowed to know the judicial decisions that at that time and that day the court released. For this reason, it comes to show that the presence of the Chilean State and its institutions in the Wallmapuche is a permanent threat against our Mapuche People and their rights.

3.- We underline that the Wallmapuche is our territory and we have not renounced any right over it, nor do we consent to the dispossession and military occupation carried out by the Chilean State. For this reason, all territorial patrimonial properties have been established by force, violence and illegitimate laws that have been drawn up and adopted by the usurpers of our territory themselves to the detriment of the rights that assist us as a People.

4.- We remind President Sebastian Piñera and the future rulers of the Chilean State that the Mapuche Parliaments or Treaties referring to territorial sovereignty are fully in force and recognized by international law in two human rights standards. Given that the Chilean State has not had the political will to resolve the right to territory. So, we believe that the route we will take to resolve disputes over lands and territories will be international tribunals.

5.- We are aware that in the military coercive acts called “Pacification of the Araucanía” the crime of Genocide was committed, which remains in complete impunity; Likewise, they took, confiscated and occupied our territory and its resources and they impoverished us economically as a People and in the same way they caused us cultural damage in the material and immaterial sphere. These three situations constitute the current tensions and controversy and as long as they are not adequately resolved, we will never accept impunity for the crime of Genocide, nor the occupation and dispossession of our territory and its resources, and we will resort to international courts to enforce reparation for the damage caused. to our Mapuche People.

6.- Call to the Chilean People, especially those who raised the Mapuche Flag to establish a “Social Political Pact with the Mapuche People”, to put an end to State violence, recognition of territorial sovereignty and self-determination, the establishment of Truth, Justice, Reparation for the damage caused.

7.- We salute the constitutional process of the Chilean People, which arises from the social outbreak of October 2019, we hope that there will be a new political constitution, overcoming the obstacles of 2/3. At the same time, and with the same force, we affirm that the Mapuche have not given anybody a mandate to diminish, dilute or restrict our rights contained in the principle and the right to self-determination acquired internationally.

For the Right to Live in Peace, for Respect for our Collective Rights, for Territorial Sovereignty and Self-determination, we affirm the following:

I.- We affirm that the Mapuche People will continue to implement the route of self-determination under international law until the formation of our own government as a political formula to enforce our rights and actively participate in the concert of politically organized nations.

II.- We demand the Chilean State and the government of President Sebastian Piñera assume their responsibility in the crime of Genocide committed against our People in the context of the so-called “Pacification of Araucanía” and in order to know the truth is established a “Historical Clarification Commission”. Truth, justice, reparation for the damage caused by the Genocide, constitute a precondition for establishing a firm and lasting peace in Wallmapuche.

III.- We announce that the Temucuicui community and others under the principle and the right to exercise territorial sovereignty and self-determination will establish the “Mapuche Community Police”, since the Chilean State Police represents an aggression and permanent threat against the Mapuche town.

IV.- We announce that we will continue to deploy and without rest, all the organizational mobilizations of the Mapuche communities for the restitution of the usurped lands and without any exception.

V.- We call on the Courts of Justice that operate in the Wallmapuche or Mapuche territory to make their independence effective in the application of laws by revoking the constitution of territorial properties that lack legitimacy, the leases for 99 years and also, act with greater objectivity in the causes that affect Mapuche political prisoners.

VI.- We announce to the Mapuche communities to deploy all the mobilizations in the Wallmapuche and in the country in repudiation of the invasion and Chilean State violence against the Mapuche communities mobilized for the restitution of their right to land and especially those that they were the victim of an indiscriminate raid.

VII.- We call on the Chilean People to establish a “Social Political Pact with the Mapuche People” based on a full recognition of our rights, put an end to the impunity of the Genocide and reparation for the damage caused, recognition of our territorial sovereignty and recognition of the right to self-determination.

VIII.-We encourage the constitutional process of the Chilean People and at the same time we reaffirm that we will not accept that our collective rights acquired from international law be diluted, restricted, or limited, likewise, we will not accept a relationship of institutional subordination of the Mapuche People in the new political constitution, but a full recognition of our territorial sovereignty and self-determination.
