The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Chile expressed its congratulations to the government of Nicolás Maduro, in Venezuela, for obtaining an “impeccable” victory in the legislative elections last Sunday, December 6, despite what they described as “pressure” exerted by Washington and its allies.
Through a statement, the community indicated that “The Venezuelan people overcame the pressure of the United States government and its allies, which through the economic blockade have tried to destabilize the process, making it impossible to import food, medicine, spare parts and fuel ”.
They added that despite this, “The government and the Venezuelan people have not only been able to successfully face the Covid 19 pandemic, but they have also obtained this victory in the parliamentary elections reaffirming their support for their national sovereignty, social justice, democracy, overcoming the blockade, dialogue and peace ”.
In this sense, from the PC they insisted that “The maximum pressure applied by the empire and right-wing governments, like that of (Sebastián) Piñera, has collided with an impeccable electoral process, fully adjusted to constitutional precepts and corroborated by international institutions and observers.
Finally, the central committee of the PC reiterated its “solidarity and commitment to the struggle of the Venezuelan people by his sovereign right to define for himself his own destiny, free from all foreign intervention ”.
