This Tuesday, May 12, the Ministry of Health issued his 16th Covid-19 Epidemiological Report, with data up to 7 pm on Sunday, May 10, and among its main data indicates that of the 20 communes with the highest number of coronavirus patients, no less than 17 correspond to the Metropolitan region.
And among the cities of regions, it is Punta Arenas, of the Magallanes and Antarctica Region, the one with the most infected, with 858, followed by Temuco with 734 and by Antofagasta with 658.
In addition, four metropolitan communes passed the thousand positive cases: Santiago (1,873), Puente Alto (1,658), Recoleta (1,128) and La Florida (1,771).
The other communes of the Metropolitan Region that are among the 20 with the sickest are Independencia (992), Maipú (844), Quilicura (826), Peñalolén (779), San Bernado (773), Las Condes (738), Estación Central (679), La Pintana (561), Pudahuel (491), Ñuñoa (480), San Joaquín (475), Conchalí (470) and Quinta Normal (459).
Another worrying situation is that of Ancud, on the large island of Chiloé, where cases were doubled with respect to the last Epidemiological Report on Friday, May 8: there they went from 23 to 48. And that in Chiloé there is a sanitary cordon since March 25.
