New setbacks in the Step by Step Plan were announced today due to the increase in coronavirus cases that has been registered in recent days.
In the midst of the Balance due to the pandemic, the authorities reported that communes in the northern and southern regions must return to previous phases in said plan.
This is how the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell, announced that they are going back to Quarantine from Saturday 12 at 5:00, Los Ángeles, in the Biobío Region; Paillaco and Río Bueno, in the Los Ríos Region.
They go back to Transition on the same date: Ovalle, in the Coquimbo Region; Cabrero, Yumbel, Laja, Tirúa, Penco, in the Biobío Region, and San José de la Mariquina, in the Los Ríos Region.
Also, they go back to Preparation: Combarbalá, Punitaqui, Monte Patria and Río Hurtado in the Coquimbo Region.
On the other hand, they advance to Transition on Monday 14: Futrono, Los Lagos, in the Los Ríos Region, and Puqueldón, with the Los Lagos Region.
Advance to Preparation on the same date: Quillón in the Ñuble Region, Parral in the Maule Region and Río Negro in the Los Lagos Region.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, expressed his concern about the increase in cases. “In today’s pandemic report, only five regions of the country fall and this is very worrying. And 11 regions of the country increase their cases. The positivity at the national level of the PCR is 5%. CRP has not gone up for a long time. We also observe an increase in the effective R, which is an index of the contagion capacity of a person who is infected with the coronavirus ”, he warned.
“We have all seen the situation in the Metropolitan Region. We all know someone or have directly lost a loved one. We know that we are all tired of the pandemic, but it is not over. From the government we are going to control with great force, but no control will replace the commitment that each one of us has with his life and that of his loved ones, ”said Martorell.
