Colo Colo: The points that the Cacique needs on these 16 dates to save himself from relegation

[ad_1]

The fight to avoid relegation this season seems to be a reality for Colo Colo. The ugly 3-1 loss to Palestino erased with a stroke the good feelings left by the victory against Deportes Antofagasta, taking the Cacique back to the penultimate position of the table and, what is worse, with all his direct rivals in that area winning their respective matches.

The situation seems untenable, especially if they see the very low levels that the Cacique is presenting weekend to weekend, in addition the null capacity of Black and white at the time of Bring in reinforcements to try to turn this sad story around.

With this panorama there is no other choice but to get the idea that the fight to maintain the category will be our reality in the remainder of this 2020 National Championship, where the 16 remaining dates of the tournament appear as true finals in the objective of not descending to the First B of our football.

With calculator in hand we do the accounts of How many points should Colo Colo earn out of the 48 that remain in dispute in his quest to stay in the honor division, comparing it with the units that the teams had in the past seasons.

Season 2009:

17th Rangers 35 points

18 ° Sports Iquique 35 points

National Tournament 2010:

17th Everton 34 points

18th St. Louis 24 points

Season 2011:

17 ° Santiago Morning 35 points

18th Ñublense 33 points

Season 2012:

17th Union San Felipe 34 points

18 ° Sports La Serena 31 points

2013-2014 season:

17th Everton 35 points

18th Rangers 31 points

There are a couple of seasons that we decided to leave out of this calculation, since the decline was defined by the average of the four previous tournaments, as was the case of Transition 2013 and Clausura 2015. In addition, we do not take into account last 16 cast championships, since only 30 dates were played in total.

To take into account and analyze the declines in tournaments where there were 18 teams (34 dates), the Cacique has 22 points remaining to aspire to save himself from everything, reaching 36 units, enough to at least leave the penultimate place and avoid playing the promotion.

If this translates into matches won we are talking about that, of the 16 games left to play, those led by Gustavo Quinteros they must win between six and seven games, added to one that another tie achieved along the way. If you compare with the first round of the tournament is double the duels won by the albos.

A complicated and difficult outlook for Colo Colo in this second half of the season, where the sins will be paid for the lousy work done by Black and White when shaping the squad and their relationship with these players. Time will tell if that payout will be lowered or miraculously saved in the tournament.
