The union leader indicated that he makes an “urgent call to the government of Sebastián Piñera, to the Ministry of Education, given the conditions we have today: It is not possible to continue with face-to-face classes throughout the country. “

In that sense, he said that he denounced a series of situations “what have been happening”. Among them, that it would be “forcing officials to attend in person, putting their lives at risk because they have to move and stay in each of the educational establishments.”

On behalf of the College of Teachers, Carlos Díaz said that they did declare themselves “available for ethical shifts, solely based on delivering guides or family food baskets.”

This situation occurs on the same day that the highest number of coronavirus infections has been known since June of last year, with 5,425 new cases.
