During the night of this Sunday, the Federation of Public Health Associations (Fedasap) reported the death of a patient with Covid-19 at Hospital San José, in the commune of Independencia, due to the lack of mechanical fans in the establishment, while the death of an infected older adult who, according to relatives, went through an extensive delay in her attention that even led her to more than 13 hours in an ambulance.
The accusations come in the midst of internal complaints that ensure that the hospital compound, belonging to the North Metropolitan Health Service, does not have sufficient medical personnel or infrastructure for the correct care of patients.

Officials from the compound stated that this is a man who entered with respiratory complications and presented two cardiac arrests and, according to preliminary information, was not assisted with a mechanical respirator due to lack of parts of the apparatus.
According to the workers of the San José Hospital, now They are operating with 25 percent fewer staff, the ICU has collapsed, patients have been transferred, and anesthesia machines have already begun to be used as mechanical ventilators.
Officials note that the situation was triggered by the suspension of payments to doctors who work for a fee and who replace other officials, which would respond to an investigation carried out by the Comptroller about the payment of fees in the hospital system.
However, the director of the San José, Luis Escobar, denied the accusations and affirmed that it is impossible to function with a quarter less of the medical establishment.
