Claro beats Wom and is awarded the spectrum block tendered by Movistar

Claro was awarded the 10 MHz block in the 1.9 GHz band privately tendered by Movistar, after the Supreme Court ruling originated in the 700 MHz tender, which determined the return of spectrum from the companies.

From Claro they pointed out that The award will help strengthen its mobile services in the country since it is a spectrum block contiguous to yours, which will allow optimizing its voice and data transmission capacity.

“At Claro we are committed to Chile and therefore we want to lead the generation of new connectivity solutions that contribute to its economic and social development, as well as to the digital inclusion of all citizens,” they highlighted, adding that “this block of spectrum is contiguous to the one we already have in this band, which allows us to strengthen and optimize our mobile services in the country, by increasing its voice and data transmission capacity ”.

The company -in a statement- also highlighted the award of this private tender that won the operator Wom, with a view to the result of the 5G tender in which they are participating.

The transfer of the spectrum block will take place in the coming days, which is expected to be operational in the coming months.
