The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, announced a new change in the policies of entry of people from abroad through the Santiago airport.

Remember that the air terminal is the only point in the country where the borders are open, which allows the entry of tourists to the country, as well as the departure of compatriots who travel abroad for work reasons and also on vacation.

The announcement came after reporting a second case of contagion with the new British strain of coronavirus, which is in the Maule region.

The new measure will run from January 7 at 5:00 a.m. and it consists of all Chilean and foreign residents arriving from abroad must have a negative PCR test with a maximum of 72 hours old.

At present, that was only required for foreigners who entered the country as tourists.

In this regard, Paris called all Airlines to comply with this measure. “They cannot board anyone who travels to Chile without a negative PCR,” he said.

This measure is in addition to the one announced last week, when it was reported that since Thursday, December 31 Anyone arriving in Chile must comply with a mandatory 10-day quarantine, which may end on the seventh day if a negative PCR test is obtained.
