This afternoon, the Communist Party (PC) issued a public statement in which it criticized the report issued by a mission of independent experts commissioned by the United Nations (UN), where it was concluded that crimes were committed by the government of Nicolás Maduro against humanity.

In an extensive statement, from the store they affirmed that “without pretending to answer for the Venezuelan state, we state that we trust the efforts that the government of that country is currently deploying and will continue to develop, with the support of the international community, to overcome the crisis. that you experience ”.

Along these lines, they added that “for this reason, the recent renewal of the cooperation pact between the government of Venezuela and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR), after a year of the first meeting, seems encouraging. , in which it was agreed to triple the number of officials operating in the country and to work towards the opening of an office in Venezuela, all the result of a constructive cooperation process between the parties ”.

Regarding the text, they accused that “coincidentally a” Report “has appeared on the situation of human rights in Venezuela, along with the tour that Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State of the United States, makes to Colombia, Brazil and Guyana, with the manifest intention of supporting the coup sectors in Venezuela, which, led by Guaidó, insist on foreign intervention, in the face of their defeat in the country. This contemplates the use and abuse of this “Report”.

In addition, they assured that Latin America “suffers a crisis of proportions in terms of human rights”, giving as an example the situations that are experienced in countries such as Colombia, Bolivia and Chile, where “impunity for the violation of human rights is evident, of the dictatorship and now the government of Sebastián Piñera before popular demand ”.

Regarding the accusation to the Government of Maduro, they assured that “it is the result of work carried out from outside the country, a text drawn up based on versions obtained remotely, in which there has been no real exchange with the authorities of that State, that is, it lacks factual evidence, so it is not an overview of the situations that have been experienced ”.

Among other points, they also anticipated that the parliamentary elections of December 6 in that country “offer an opportunity for a solution through popular and democratic decision,” calling on international organizations to respect said process.

Despite this, they warned that “this process is in danger, and the final recommendation of the” Report “could serve this purpose, which, contrary to its own assertion, that the standard” of reasonable grounds to believe “does not give to prove responsibilities criminal law, suggests initiating legal actions against Venezuelan state officials in accordance with the pertinent domestic legislation of each country. This may be an excuse for those, like President Trump, Duque, Alamagro and others, who intend to subdue Venezuela through the use of force and impede the electoral process, the result of the agreement for democratic coexistence ”.

“The Communist Party of Chile will not lend itself to a new international escalation against Venezuela, promoted from the US,” they closed from the PC.
