The list led by deputy Javier Macaya, was imposed by 55% of the preferences in the internal elections of the UDI. Thus beating the continuity list led by former minister Víctor Pérez.

After knowing the results, the president-elect of the UDI said that it is necessary to work together for the next electoral challenges to come.

An election that was also closely followed by the other Chile Vamos parties. From Renovación Nacional, Senator Francisco Chahuán said that the conglomerate needs to be renewed and that it is necessary that they must work together for the upcoming electoral cycle.


From Evópoli they celebrated that Macaya is the one who leads the UDI during the following period. The party’s president, Andrés Molina, pointed out that they are close to the union deputy and that the sector must work in a long-term perspective.

Macaya manages to preside over the union after losing the previous elections to Jacqueline Van Rysselberghe.

The board of directors will be composed of María José Hoffman as general secretary and as vice presidents, the deputy Gustavo Sanhueza, the mayor of the Queen, José Manuel Palacios and the former minister of Women, Isabel Pla.
