This Thursday, the Ministry of Health delivered a new balance of figures related to the covid-19 pandemic that affects Chile, accounting for the highest level of new cases since July 10.
In this sense, the health authority confirmed 3,022 new infections, 109 new deaths, bringing to a total of 608,973 infections since the pandemic began and reaching a total of 16,608 deaths as a result of the virus.
Regarding the figures, the Bío Bío again leads in new daily cases in regions, with 612 new infections. Further back are Los Lagos (267), Valparaíso (225), Araucanía (222) and El Maule (214).
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan region maintains the leadership of new COVID-19 cases nationwide, registering 792 new infections in the last 24 hours.
With these unfortunate figures, the highest point of new cases in 174 days was marked, precisely on July 10, on which day 3,058 cases were registered. A similar situation occurs with the number of daily deaths recorded this day: the highest reported since September 24 (124 deaths that day), 98 days ago (3 months and 7 days).
Likewise, the number of active cases registered this Thursday (14,638) is the highest in 81 days (2 months and 20 days), since October 11 (14,701 that day).
