The Government, through the Ministry of Health (Minsal), delivered this Saturday a new balance on the spread of the covid-19 pandemic in the country.
The minister of the branch, Enrique Paris, stressed that “today we have reached the highest CRP figure and we have surpassed the 10 million exams to detect this disease ”.
“The pandemic is still active despite the vaccination process,” stressed the authority, reiterating the call to self-care and to respect the regulations.
Along these lines, he stressed that “Chile is the first country in the world in speed of vaccination against the coronavirus.”
Regarding the latest infections, the country again marked about 6 thousand new cases.
In detail, in the last 24 hours were reported 5,928 new cases (4,052 with symptoms and 1,520 asymptomatic).
Active cases, meanwhile, amount to 32,705; and since the pandemic spread 885,379 people have contracted the disease, of which 830,698 have recovered.
The Minsal maintained that the total death toll stands at 21,574; and that 123 died from the coronavirus in the last few hours.
At the national level, at the moment there are 1,960 people hospitalized in ICU -the highest figure in 8 months-, of which 1,640 remain connected to mechanical ventilation.
The critical beds available in the health network are 214.
