This Sunday the Ministry of Health released a new balance of the health crisis in the country, 6,836 new cases of covid-19 were reported.
Of these, 4,590 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,745 have no symptoms. In addition, 501 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
Minister Enrique Paris said that nationwide the increase in cases was 36% in the same period.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours 99 deaths were registered for causes associated with covid-19. The total number of deaths is 22,279 in the country.
On the other hand, the high number of infections is maintained in the Metropolitan region (2,315), Bío Bío (901) and Valparaíso (693).
The report also indicated that to date, 2,229 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 1,906 are supported by mechanical ventilation.
Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 194 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Meanwhile, the Laboratory Network and the diagnostic capacity, the results of 76,335 PCR tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 10,569,012 tests analyzed nationwide.
The number of Health Residences available is 175 with 12,809 places. As of today, they have 7,006 users considering all regions of the country.
Finally, Magallanes, Aysén and Antofagasta in the last 14 days show a reduction in the number of new cases, while at the national level the variation of new infections is 15% and 36% for the comparison of 7 and 14 days respectively.
